AWA’s Young Water Professionals (YWP) invites young and recent employees in the water sector to attend the AWA YWP program at Ozwater ’09.
The YWP network aims to represent, service, engage and inspire young professionals in the water sector. The YWP Network creates opportunities for young professionals under the age of approximately 35 years, those with up to 10 years water sector experience across all disciplines (regardless of credentials) and those “young at heart” to come together, network and learn about some of the exciting developments occurring in the water and environmental sector.
The Ozwater ‘09 YWP Program will consist of a workshop on Sunday 15 March (1330– 1700) and a breakfast session on Tuesday 16 March (0700 – 0815). Both sessions will be held at Melbourne Exhibition Centre.
This program will provide an opportunity for young water professionals from across the water industry to network, gain professional skills and hear the stories of inspirational young people who are high achievers in the water industry.
Guest speaker, Anna Rose will open the YWP Workshop by speaking on the actions that YWPs and the industry can take to tackle climate change.
Workshop participants will then be encouraged to think innovatively, explore all the issues around the questions raised and identify actions using the participatory World Café conversational process. The key outcomes of the YWP Workshop will be publicised throughout the Ozwater electronic poster session and presented to Ozwater ‘09 delegates in the Closing Session by National YWP President, Erin Cini, on Wednesday 18 March.
The YWP breakfast will provide participants with the opportunity to engage in an animated and interactive discussion with professionals working in the climate change field.
